Garden Restoration - Riverpoint Retirement Village; The front entrance and gardens immediately outside the Community Centre are in need of and upgrade and this grant will assist with installation of water wise and Mediterranean plants creating a greater appeal.
Bucklands Entertainment Centre - Bucklands; A new 70” large screen television will be installed in the Bucklands Activity Hall. Residents will come together more often to enjoy special events and movie nights.
Destination Corridors for Banksia - Pines Lodge; Funding to provide wall decals and murals to create different theme corridors for the residents.
Therapeutic Entertainment Station - Willow Fern Cottage; A new 55” smart television providing more interactive opportunities
Chicken Coop – Bellevue Court; The Gawler residents have expressed an interest in having chickens in the Memory Support unit. Giving the residents a purpose to feed the chickens, clean the coop, collect the eggs it will provide an entertaining, stimulating and sensory activity each day.
Technology for Communications - Oakfield Lodge; An IT hub for residents to access, establish and maintain connection with family and friends through the internet. The program will extend further to develop the intergenerational relationship with Mt Barker Primary School.
Butterfly Program Enhancement - Lourdes Valley; Butterfly Program is a dementia specific program for clients living with this condition. Funds to purchase iPads which support activities of this program.
Connecting with Technology - Onkaparinga Lodge; Providing opportunities for the residents to listen to music, learn about technology, look at photos, and to connect with family and friends via the internet. Funds to purchase iPads to enable a greater understanding of technology and communicate externally.
Rifton Tram - Philip Kennedy Centre; Grant application received from Senior Physio at PKC. A Rifton Tram performs three main functions: a lift system, a stander and a gait trainer. PKC trialled this equipment and has provided several case studies of residents that used the machine and their improved performance.
Dementia Specific Diversional Therapy - Fullarton; Funds to purchase dementia specific therapy products such as weighted and fidget blankets. These provide proprioceptive feedback to counteract sensory regulation deficit seen in people with dementia, and encourage strength.
Table Tennis - Oaklands Park; A table tennis table will be purchased for the residents of Oaklands Park. Table tennis helps residents with their concentration, increases people’s agility and flexibility.
Turning Old into a Functional Shed – Bellevue Court; Bellevue have a shed on their site that is not being utilised. With the addition of a few workbenches, tools, and a set of table and chairs, this will become a functional space for our residents to gather, sit, talk, or work on projects.
Social Gatherings - Wattle Grove Retirement Village; Funding for a 55” large screen television to encourage residents to come together at their Community Room to enjoy movies and events such as AFL matches, Carols by Candelight..
