Participants in the graduate programs develop their skills in a supportive environment, with mentors on hand to provide training on our processes, service delivery model and healthy ageing approach.

The Graduate Personal Care Worker (residential) and Home Care Assistance (community) programs require students to have completed a student placement at Southern Cross Care and apply within two months of completing the placement. Students are encouraged to apply for the gradute position during their student placement if they intend to seek employment with Southern Cross Care.

Our Graduate Personal Care Worker (residential) and Home Care Assistance (community) program sees many Carers go on to study their Diploma of Nursing with the support of Southern Cross Care. We can help with access to government training incentives and flexible shifts to help you continue to work as you study. We also offer in-house graduate programs to help you with the transition into your new nursing career.

We also offer development programs for Registered Nurses, helping them to develop their clinical, supervisory and leadership skills. These programs help us to develop the next generation of healthy ageing leaders and managers.

Student Placements at Southern Cross Care

At Southern Cross Care we understand the value of have a skilled and engaged workforce. We partner with RTO’s and Universities to offer student placements in sites and services across the organisation with the aim of enhancing students learning and knowledge. Placements are offered across a variety of roles and disciplines.
